1

PURPOSE OF PRACTICUM

In every undertaking in me sending University or even being part of the SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Program, I always find my purpose. I believe that the purpose of practicum are aligned to the objective of the SEAMEO. And then i gained a lot of experience, new knowledge and develop skills in teaching. Then it can also be able to compare between teaching method in Indonesia with those in the Philippines.

In addition, through this practicum I can also experience culture exchange, and improve mg English skills.

2

PROCEDURE OF

PRACTICUM

My procedure in practicum circulates in instructional planning, actual delivery of the lesson, and assessment and evaluation. I treat my lesson plan as a Holy Bible of a teacher which guide me towards the attainment or achievement of the learning outcomes. In actual delivery of the lesson, the teachers act is being tested. My classroom strategies and approaches were anchored  to the attainment of the learning outcomes. Classroom management and speaking English is a MUST. The motivation and activities phase must catch the attention of the students and as much possible, both are contextualise.

3

OUTCOMES OF PRACTICUM

The outcomes of this practicum is that I got a lot of new things from this program. I can improve my English better than before. I also found new methods in teaching how to manage classes, and know the charactistics of the students. Beside that, i also feel more confident and more communicative in teaching. I am very happy when I learned that the fruit of my labour were sweet. It is a sweet success that I got new friends, new experiences and lastly holistic understanding about others culture. I believe that teaching them is highly remarkable to them and even to me.

4

CHALLENGE OF PRACTICUM

The challenge in this program is the language. Some students are not fluent so they are less active in asking questions and participating in class. But i tied to overcome it by more actively coming in his chair and not forgetting to use body language. Some challenges in my practicum are expectation of my mentor and teacher in the Philippines, to establish good and harmonious relation to people  to develop a bilinggual instruction, contextualisation of the lesson for relevance and classroom management and many others

5

OVER ALL IMPRESSION

My over all impression is really help me meaningful teaching and learning experience not just from my mentor but also from my students. The school and the teacher were great and supportive to my ideals and aspiration for the classroom management and instruction. With that I loved SMA NEGERI 1 LIWA. With this experience I highly recommend the SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Program to my peers, family, relatives and even in academe. I AM NOW A SEA TEACHER! A teacher who is capable of "OVERCOMING LANGUAGE BARRIERS AND EMBRACING DIVERSE CULTURE.

SUGGESTION FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENT
