In 1981 the Liwa North Lampung Preparatory High School was founded with the Head of School held by Bp. Mursid Ali, who at that time served as the head of SMP Negeri 1 Liwa. In 1982 Mr. Mursid Ali as Head of SMPN 1 Liwa was replaced by Bp. Haidir Anwar is also the Head of North Lampung Liwa Preparatory High School. In 1983, based on the decision of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 0473/0/1983 November 9, 1983, regarding the opening of the classification and nationalization of high schools, Liwa 1 Public High School was officially established with the PLH head of the Head of Kandep Dikbud Cam Balik Bukit, namely Bp. Ahmad Barazi. At first Liwa 1 Public High School was located in Way Confessing Village, Balik Bukit District, with the 1994 Liwa earthquake which knocked down a number of Liwa 1 Public High School buildings, since 1995 it moved its location to Way Em Island Ulu Village, Balik Bukit District.
